Accompanying President Lee Jae-myung on his visit to the United States, First Lady Kim Hye-kyung visited the Korean Cultural Center in New York on the 25th (local time), where she met with young Korean cultural and arts professionals active in the city.

Participants included Lee So-eun (U.S. lawyer and singer-songwriter), Park Hye-sang (soprano at the New York Metropolitan Opera), Hwang Joo-min (performer in the Broadway musical “& Juliet”), Yoon Da-in (optical illusion artist), Kim Tae-i (curatorial fellow at the New Museum, Hanwha Life), Wang Hyun-ji (film foley artist), Chun Chan Jun (head of CG at Crafty Apes), Kim Lora (co-founder and creative director of the women’s fashion brand Monse), Andrew Kwon (founder of the fashion brand ANDREW KWON), and Ahn Soo-yeon (poet and translator).

​She shared that President Lee had asked her to listen closely to what they need and what challenges they are facing, and she engaged in conversations with them.

Government–Industry Roundtable with the First Lady of South Korea (New York, 2025) Chan Jun Chun as a CG/VFX professional who's currently working at Crafty Ape's CG Supervisor, delivered remarks on the evolving competitiveness of Korea’s CG/VFX industry in the global market. Addressed the shift from technical excellence to creative storytelling as the core driver of content value, and emphasized the recognition Korean artists are gaining for their technical expertise and rapid production capabilities. Highlighted challenges in the domestic industry, including overemphasis on speed and efficiency at the expense of fair treatment for creators, and raised concerns about potential talent drain. Advocated for structured budget management, systematic industry frameworks, and international exchange programs that allow emerging creators to gain global experience and return with enhanced expertise. Called for active government support and collaboration to ensure the long-term sustainability and global leadership of K-content.​
